These Parish Records were started to be transcribed in the year 2000 to 2001 starting with Writhlington. Since then, they have been added to, and also other Parishes within the group. In addition to the Parish Records, the webmaster has built a group of Timelines, of the Surnames and their variants found in his Family Tree plus a few surnames that he has researched for friends. These can be found HERE
Page and Entry numbers in (Parenthesis) are not actually in the Parish Registers, but are given as a point of reference, calculated by counting the pages from the beginning of the register, and entries on each page. In many cases the Parish Clerk neglected to enter the numbers where he should have done.
Pages are often out of sequence, so the transcriber has used the microfiche which was supplied to the webmaster by the Somerset Archive & Record Service, as standard, excluding any duplicated pages, but including any transcriptions where necessary.
As near as possible, the transcriber has kept the spellings of people's names, and places the same as was written in the registers. Remember, for many years, there was no standard way of spelling.
Where the Parish Clark has used one spelling for a persons name, yet that person has signed their name using another spelling, the transcriber have used the signature as standard.

Information in [ ] are estimates from other entries, and should not be taken as definite. OR is a reference to where the information came from.

The (?) following a name or word means that I couldn't be absolutely sure of the information/
spelling given.
